Five Ways We Foster Youth Engagement

UNYC carries the mandate of the United Nations into Canadian classrooms — and the ambitions of Canadian students into the global arena. These are the commitments that bind us.

  1. I.

    Establish a platform for youth

To engage and establish a platform for young people with a focus on raising awareness of the United Nations’ actions, of international law and of sustainable development activities.

  2. II.

    Encourage simulation clubs

To encourage high schools, CEGEPs, and universities to implement a United Nations simulation club.

  3. III.

    Deliver professional training

To provide professional and personalized training in French and English to its members participating in United Nations simulations.

  4. IV.

    Support student initiatives

To support initiatives and projects led by students aimed at achieving the targets established by the United Nations or who are interested in international issues such as human rights, sustainable development, humanitarian aid, and diplomacy.

  5. V.

    Promote the UN mandate

To promote the mandate of the United Nations and work towards the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through experiential pedagogic activities and workshops in Canadian schools, CEGEPs, and universities.

Seventeen goals. One horizon.

Every committee, classroom and charity we support traces back to the global plan adopted in 2015 by the Member States of the United Nations.
